Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring for a qualified, patient-care-focused Cook to work for a State Hospital in Pasadena, TX

Cooks/ Food Prep Helpers are responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers. They are also responsible for the main function is to assist in the preparation of foods. Works primarily in the kitchen supporting the production of food products. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events.
  • Cook food products for patients, café, catering functions, and doctor’s lounge. Maintain high quality, proper temperatures and garnish all plates.
  • Coordinates with the Production Chef and Food Service Coordinators to ensure scheduled meal preparation and/or meal delivery.
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and production equipment.
  • Weigh or measure ingredients, such as meats and liquids.
  • Help assemble dishes by following recipes and portion guidelines, ensuring that each dish is presented correctly and consistently.
  • Keep kitchen stations stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of customers and staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors or coworkers in a professional manner.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. 
  • 2 or more years of experience.
  • Must have leadership skills
  • Food Handler Certificate Required
  • Immunizations are required.
